There are beautiful beaches at Lady Bay, or even closer, the Cockle Shore just a few hundred yards from the hotel, and the long peninsula known as the 'Rhins of Galloway' is dotted with pretty villages, amid very beautiful countryside. At the tip, lies the Mull of Galloway, Scotland's most southerly point, where you can climb the lighthouse, spot some rare seabirds, or perhaps some seals or even porpoises.
